Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, Head of Corporate Communications at Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited, has addressed concerns regarding the recent tariff review at the airport car park of Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2).
She explained that the facility was originally designed for short-stay use, primarily for drop-offs and pick-ups. However, over time, it had been widely misused by individuals who parked their vehicles for extended periods, in some cases up to a year, which goes against the intended purpose of the car park.
According to her, the tariff adjustment is part of a demand management strategy aimed at restoring the facility to its original function, not primarily to generate revenue. She emphasized that the airport car park is not a garage for long-term storage.
The clarification comes after the recent increase in parking fees at MMA2, which had sparked reactions from users. Yinka-Olawuyi noted that the new tariffs are intended to encourage turnover and ensure availability for genuine short-term users.
She further stated that Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited remains committed to providing efficient and user-friendly services at the airport.
