Air Peace has disclosed that a minor aircraft fault detected by its technical team during routine post-boarding checks was responsible for the disruption of its scheduled Lagos-London flight on Friday.
Passenger Support and Safety Measures
In a statement released on Saturday, Air Peace’s Spokesman, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, confirmed that all affected passengers were promptly informed about the situation. The airline provided support, including hotel accommodation and other necessary assistance, to ensure their comfort.
Osifo-Whiskey emphasized that, in line with the airline’s unwavering commitment to safety and global aviation standards, the aircraft was immediately withdrawn from service, and passengers were safely disembarked.
Replacement Aircraft and Schedule
To minimize further disruption, Air Peace stated that a replacement aircraft from London would be dispatched. Passengers are scheduled to depart on Saturday morning.
The statement added: “At Air Peace, the safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew will always take precedence over operational schedules. While we understand the inconvenience this situation may have caused, taking swift preventive action was the responsible and necessary decision.”
“We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding and cooperation shown by our passengers during this period. Their trust remains incredibly important to us. Air Peace remains fully committed to delivering safe, reliable service at all times.”
