CREDICORP Launches C.L.I.C.K.D. Initiative for Affordable Digital Devices

The Nigerian Consumer Credit Corporation (CREDICORP) has officially opened applications for its Credit for Laptops, Internet, Connectivity & Knowledge Devices (C.L.I.C.K.D.) initiative, a programme designed to provide Nigerians with access to digital devices through affordable consumer credit. This scheme enables students, workers, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and job seekers to purchase essential technology without paying the full amount upfront, thus bridging the digital opportunity gap in the country.

What is C.L.I.C.K.D.?

C.L.I.C.K.D. is CREDICORP's flagship digital device financing programme that makes laptops, smartphones, tablets, and other productivity tools more affordable through structured repayment plans. According to CREDICORP, the initiative aims to empower more Nigerians to access devices needed for education, work, and business activities, thereby enhancing productivity and digital inclusion across the nation.

Who Can Apply for the N1m Loan?

The expression of interest form is open to Nigerians residing in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. Eligible applicants include salary earners, freelancers, self-employed individuals, business owners, students, job seekers, and NYSC members. Applicants are required to indicate their employment status and may also provide details of their monthly income to facilitate the assessment process.

What Devices Can You Purchase?

Successful applicants may access credit to purchase laptops, smartphones, tablets, connectivity devices, and digital learning equipment. The scheme is specifically designed to finance devices that improve productivity, learning, and access to digital opportunities, covering a wide range of technological tools essential for modern work and education.

Eligible Purposes for Device Use

Applicants must specify the intended use of the device, which includes learning and professional certifications, remote work, freelancing, business growth, school activities, software development, content creation, and other productivity purposes. This ensures that the credit is utilized for activities that contribute to personal and economic development.

Interest Rate and Repayment Terms

CREDICORP's expression of interest portal does not disclose specific interest rates, repayment tenures, or financing charges. Instead, the corporation states that eligible applicants will be contacted after their applications are assessed, with final financing terms depending on participating lenders and individual eligibility. Beneficiaries will be able to spread payments over time rather than making a single upfront payment, and successful repayments will help users build stronger credit profiles for future consumer credit access.

Required Information for Application

To apply, Nigerians need to provide their state of residence, employment status, preferred device, purpose for requesting the device, and optionally, monthly income. They must also indicate participation in digital talent programmes such as 3MTT, ALX, AltSchool Africa, Learn2Earn, and others. Applicants must consent to CREDICORP and its partners using their information to assess eligibility.

Partnership with 3MTT Programme

The first national pilot of the C.L.I.C.K.D. programme is being implemented in partnership with the Federal Government's 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) programme under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. This collaboration will enable eligible 3MTT participants to obtain laptops and other work-ready devices on credit, supporting digital skills development and employment opportunities.

Application Process and Next Steps

Interested Nigerians can submit their expressions of interest through the CREDICORP portal. After submission, eligible applicants will be contacted for further assessment and finalization of financing terms. The programme is expected to significantly enhance access to digital devices across the country, fostering economic growth and digital literacy.
