Stanbic IBTC Holdings, a prominent member of the Standard Bank Group, has achieved a remarkable milestone in its corporate social investment program. The organization's flagship initiative, Together4ALimb, has now reached 200 beneficiaries since its inception in 2015.
Transforming Lives Through Comprehensive Support
The transformative program has been bringing hope and opportunity to children across Nigeria who live with limb loss. This year marks a significant achievement as the initiative prepares to support its 200th beneficiary. The program specifically targets underserved children aged 0 to 18 years whose lives have been dramatically changed by accidents, medical conditions, or congenital disabilities.
In the current phase, 64 new beneficiaries will receive custom-fitted prosthetic limbs along with substantial educational support. Each child will benefit from an education trust fund valued at N1.5 million, specifically designed to support their academic journey and long-term educational aspirations.
Beyond Mobility: Restoring Confidence and Potential
Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Holdings, Chuma Nwokocha, emphasized the program's deeper philosophy. "We are not just fitting limbs for underserved children living with limb loss; we are also enabling futures," Nwokocha stated. "Our Together4ALimb initiative reflects our belief that every child deserves an equal chance to live fully and pursue their dreams."
The initiative's impact extends far beyond physical mobility. It focuses on restoring confidence and nurturing the inherent potential within each child. The program takes a holistic approach that addresses both physical needs through prosthetic limbs and educational requirements through financial support.
Community Engagement and National Reach
The program's success was recently celebrated through the 11th edition of the Together4ALimb Walk, held on Saturday in Victoria Island. This event has become a significant highlight in Nigeria's financial services industry corporate social responsibility calendar.
Chief Executive at Stanbic IBTC Bank, Wole Adeniyi, highlighted the initiative's symbolic importance. "As we walk with the children who continue to receive our support until they reach 18 years, we are reminded of the power of collective compassion and the impact of consistent support," Adeniyi noted.
The Together4ALimb initiative demonstrates how community-driven efforts can reshape lives and foster strength. By combining physical rehabilitation with educational opportunities, the program ensures that children are well-prepared for long-term success and can dream of brighter futures without limitations.
As Stanbic IBTC celebrates this significant achievement, the organization remains committed to expanding its impact and continuing its support for children with limb differences across Nigeria.
