Wema Bank Plc has reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing customer engagement as it marks the ninth anniversary of its digital banking platform, ALAT. The bank announced this milestone in a statement, emphasizing its ongoing efforts to improve user experience and broaden access to innovative financial services through digital channels.
ALAT's Journey and Evolution
Launched in 2017 as Africa's first fully digital bank, ALAT was created to overcome the challenges of traditional banking by offering a seamless platform for account opening, transactions, and financial management without requiring physical interaction. Over the years, Wema Bank noted that ALAT has grown into a robust digital ecosystem serving both individuals and businesses, featuring solutions that encourage savings, facilitate payments, and promote financial inclusion.
Anniversary Campaign: ALAT at 9
To celebrate the anniversary, the bank introduced the "ALAT at 9" campaign, a month-long initiative filled with customer-focused activities, rewards, and interactive engagements designed to boost user participation. Key features include "ALAT Wrapped," which gives customers a personalized summary of their platform activity, and the "9 Features in 9 Days" challenge aimed at encouraging consistent engagement. Additionally, customers who complete their ninth transaction at precisely 9:00 a.m. or 9:00 p.m. during the campaign will receive instant rewards. A jingle challenge has also been launched to inspire creative participation from users.

Campaign Duration and Participation
The anniversary activities began on May 2 and will run through May 31, with the bank urging customers to participate by updating or downloading the application from relevant app stores. The bank added that the celebration highlights its leadership in digital banking and its ongoing commitment to innovation and service delivery.
