NRS Deploys Rev360 to Boost Voluntary Tax Compliance

The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering voluntary tax compliance across the country by leveraging technology to provide seamless access to tax services. This was announced during the official launch of Rev360, a next-generation digital tax administration platform designed to deliver a more integrated, intelligent, and taxpayer-centric experience.

Rev360: A Transformational Platform

At the unveiling event, the Executive Chairman of the NRS, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, described Rev360 as a groundbreaking platform that facilitates the institution's transition to Tax Administration 3.0. He emphasized that the platform enhances service delivery, strengthens compliance management, improves transparency, and simplifies taxpayer interactions. According to Adedeji, Rev360 represents a significant leap toward building a modern, efficient, and responsive tax administration system that aligns with global best practices and meets the evolving needs of taxpayers and businesses. He further noted that the NRS has evolved from an accounting agency into a technology-driven organization.

Government Support and Economic Impact

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, praised the NRS for its dedication to innovation and institutional transformation. Represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance, Mohammed Danjuma, Oyedele highlighted that digital platforms like Rev360 are crucial for strengthening revenue administration, improving the ease of doing business, boosting investor confidence, and supporting the Federal Government's economic reform agenda. He stressed that efficient, technology-enabled tax administration systems are becoming the backbone of modern economies, essential for creating a transparent, predictable, and business-friendly environment that fosters sustainable growth and national development.

Enhanced Taxpayer Experience

The Executive Director of the Medium and Emerging Taxpayers Group, Bolaji Akintola, explained that Rev360 is the first phase of a broader transformation journey aimed at simplifying taxpayer interactions with the service and improving the overall taxpayer experience. She noted that the platform is designed to enhance taxpayer onboarding, filing, payment processing, compliance management, and support services, while providing taxpayers with greater visibility, convenience, and confidence in fulfilling their tax obligations.

Onboarding Success

In an interview, the Executive Director in charge of technology at NRS, Iniabasi Akpan, revealed that 600,000 taxpayers have already been onboarded onto the platform. He emphasized that the technology makes it easy for taxpayers to pay their taxes, thereby promoting voluntary compliance.
