Rensource Energy Unveils New Leadership to Drive Expansion Across Africa

Rensource Energy has announced a significant restructuring, introducing a new board of directors and executive management team as part of a strategic overhaul aimed at establishing the company as a leading renewable energy partner throughout Africa. This repositioning signifies a shift from project-based solar installations to a comprehensive multi-technology energy platform, alongside a transition from founder-led operations to institutional governance. The expansion plan, encapsulated in the "Proven in Nigeria, Ready for Africa" strategy, marks a pivotal move to extend operations beyond Nigeria.

Restructuring Details and New Board Appointments

Central to this restructuring is the appointment of a reconstituted board composed of professionals with extensive experience in energy, finance, law, technology, and infrastructure. The board is chaired by Chikezie Nwosu, an energy executive with over three decades of global experience, while Dayo Omolokun serves as Vice Chairman, bringing more than 30 years of international finance expertise. Rensource stated that this restructuring was undertaken to address execution gaps, strengthen governance, and enhance leadership capacity, while broadening its offerings from solar to a full-spectrum renewable energy platform.

Chairman Chikezie Nwosu emphasized that the newly constituted board is designed to provide active oversight and strategic direction for the company's next growth phase. He remarked, "The board we have assembled is not ceremonial. Each member brings operational, financial, and technical expertise to guide Rensource through its next phase of growth. We have moved from founder-led to institution-led governance. We are building an organization that will power Africa's industrial future for decades to come."

Executive Management Team and Operational Focus

The executive management team is led by Chief Executive Officer Olorunfemi Fapohunda, alongside Chief Operating Officer Azizat Gbadegesin and Chief Financial Officer Segun Adebayo. Fapohunda highlighted that the company's transformation reflects a renewed focus on delivering reliable and affordable energy solutions to businesses. He stated, "This is not the same Rensource of the past. We have new governance, new leadership, new discipline, and a new vision. Our focus is simple: help Nigerian businesses replace diesel uncertainty with predictable, affordable, clean power. We finance, build, own, and operate. Our clients focus on their core business. That is the Rensource promise."

Additionally, Gbadegesin noted that the company has developed an operational platform capable of delivering projects efficiently across markets. She explained, "We have built a scalable operating platform that delivers projects on time, on budget, and to specification. With 16 years of energy programme experience across Africa, I am confident that Rensource is now positioned to execute at a level the market has not yet seen. Our 99 percent uptime target is not an aspiration, it is a standard."

Expanded Energy Solutions and Future Outlook

Rensource's expanded platform now encompasses multiple energy solutions, including solar photovoltaic systems, battery storage, hybrid systems, hydro, wind, waste-to-energy, electric vehicle charging, and carbon credits. This diversification aims to support businesses with cleaner and more reliable power across the continent, aligning with the company's vision to become a key player in Africa's renewable energy sector.
