The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced daily power outages across several communities in Delta State as major maintenance work continues until June 16, 2026. The outages will occur between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily, affecting homes, businesses, and industrial operations.
Maintenance Details
In a statement released on June 6, 2026, TCN explained that the scheduled maintenance at the Delta 132/33kV Transmission Substation began on June 4 and aims to connect a bus coupler circuit breaker and rehabilitate five isolators on the main busbar. These upgrades are critical to preventing equipment failures and improving long-term electricity stability.
Affected Feeders and Communities
The maintenance will impact several 33kV feeders from the Effurun and Delta substations, including Effurun, Warri, Sapele, Osubi, PTI, PMSL, Refinery I, Refinery II, Enerhen, Isoko/Kwale, Otovwodo/Patani, Ughelli/Shell, Agbarho/Eku, Aladja, Imoniyame, and Beta Glass feeders. Residents in these areas should prepare for daily interruptions.
Power Restoration
TCN assured that electricity supply will be restored each day by 5:00 p.m., allowing Benin Electricity Distribution Company to resume power delivery to customers. The company apologized for the inconvenience and urged patience, emphasizing that the exercise is necessary for improved transmission efficiency.
Background
This announcement follows previous TCN alerts about power outages in five Northern states for emergency maintenance on the Mando-Kumbotso 330kV transmission line, affecting Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Bauchi, Yobe, and parts of Niger Republic.
