In a significant act of seasonal charity, a non-governmental organisation has provided substantial food support to the Christian community in Bauchi State ahead of Christmas celebrations.
Massive Donation for Yuletide Cheer
The Wunti Al-khair Foundation distributed 4,500 bags of rice to the Bauchi State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN). The presentation occurred on Monday, December 22, 2025. The food items are intended for sharing among Christian members across all twenty local government areas of the state.
Foundation's Mission of Compassion
Speaking during the handover, the Director of Programmes for the foundation, Mustapha Ango, elaborated on the motivation behind the large-scale donation. He explained that the organisation was established by Dr. Bala Wunti, a former prominent figure in Nigeria's oil sector, with the core mission of positively impacting people's lives.
Ango described the donation as a key part of the foundation's community engagement and development initiatives. "It is the season of Christmas, and it is the season of giving, sharing, and caring," he stated. He emphasized that the gesture reflects Dr. Wunti's enduring commitment to ignite hope among his people, noting his well-known reputation for compassion and generosity.
Alleviating Hardship for Joyous Celebration
"We deem it fit to distribute these food items to the Christian community during the season of Christmas, to relieve them from some of the hardship in food items, for them to have a joyous celebration during the season," Ango added. This direct support aims to ease the economic burden on families and ensure a more festive and comfortable holiday period.
The leadership of the Christian community in Bauchi received the donation with gratitude. The State Chairman of CAN, Reverend Abraham Damina Dimeus, publicly applauded the Wunti Al-khair Foundation for its thoughtful and impactful gesture. The donation is expected to benefit a wide number of households throughout the state during the Yuletide season.
