The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results that were earlier withheld for investigation into suspected examination malpractice. This development was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Board's Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin.
According to JAMB, the newly released results are in addition to those previously made available to candidates. The decision followed thorough investigations into reported cases of malpractice. The Board noted that while some results were outrightly cancelled after evidence of misconduct was established, others were cleared and released where no prima facie case was found against the affected candidates.
“While some results have been outrightly cancelled where evidence of malpractice was established, others have been released where the Board found no prima facie case against the affected candidates,” the statement read.
JAMB further stated that results from centres flagged by its live monitoring team or those affected by adverse reports remain withheld pending the conclusion of ongoing investigations. The Board warned that any candidate found culpable after further investigations would have their results cancelled.
This action underscores JAMB's commitment to maintaining the integrity of the examination process, ensuring that only deserving candidates receive their results. Candidates are advised to check their results via official JAMB portals for updates.
