A Nigerian man has taken to social media to boast about his academic achievements after securing high scores in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination and subsequent post-UTME tests. Despite not attending any special tutoring centres or tutorials, he managed to obtain impressive results and gain admission to the University of Benin (UNIBEN).

JAMB and Post-UTME Scores Revealed

The man, identified as @paultobe1 on Twitter, shared details of his examination journey. In 2008, he scored 239 in JAMB and 49 in the UNIBEN post-UTME, but was not admitted. Undeterred, he sat for JAMB again in 2009, achieving a score of 244. He then applied to UNIBEN and scored 59 in the post-UTME, which secured his admission.

He wrote: "My favorite Oga, In 2008 I scored 239, Uniben Post UTME 49, no admission. 2009, I scored 244, Uniben Post UTME 59, admitted. No JAMB lectures, no special classes."

Working While Studying

Remarkably, @paultobe1 revealed that he was working a full-time job from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm during the year he gained admission. He dedicated his evenings to studying, reading from 11 pm to 3:30 am to cover the syllabus. This disciplined approach allowed him to achieve his goals without formal coaching.

Similar Stories of Perseverance

In a related story, a graduate of UNIBEN shared how she scored 238 in JAMB after writing the exam with her elder sister for experience. Although her parents were pleased, she felt disappointed but eventually gained admission after her post-UTME.

Another student, already enrolled at UNIBEN, wrote JAMB for the fourth time to pursue Medicine and Surgery. He scored 320 and expressed confidence in securing his dream course.

Additionally, a former POS attendant and schoolteacher shared his journey of writing JAMB three times, scoring 276, 273, and 313. He attributed his highest score to changing his study methods, which helped him pursue Medicine and Surgery.
