Financial readiness is the third condition. Applicants must demonstrate sufficient funds to cover their living expenses during their stay, or provide an acceptable sponsor who can offer that support. The fourth requirement is that applicants must have clear plans to leave New Zealand before or at the end of their permitted stay.
Additional Requirements and Visa Benefits
Finally, applicants must meet all other general requirements of the visa category, which may include health and character checks. Once granted, the visa allows the holder to join their partner in New Zealand, travel around the country as a visitor, and enrol in study programmes for up to three months.
Dependent children aged 19 or younger can be included in the same application, allowing families to travel together. However, there is a clear limitation on employment: holders of this visa are not permitted to take up work in New Zealand. The immigration authority does allow remote work, provided the employer or client is based outside New Zealand.
