A graduate of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has taken to social media to disclose the amounts he paid as school fees during his undergraduate years from 100 level to 400 level. The individual, who studied at the institution between 2015 and 2019, also revealed the acceptance fee he paid upon admission.
Breakdown of School Fees
In a post on his social media page, the graduate, identified as @bhenjosh, stated that his total school fees from 100 level to 400 level did not exceed 150,000 naira. He provided a detailed breakdown: acceptance fee of 45,000 naira, 100 level school fees of 46,400 naira, 200 level fees of 12,400 naira, and 300 and 400 level fees of 13,400 naira each.
Protest Over Fee Increase
The graduate recalled a protest during his 300 level days when the school attempted to add an extra 1,000 naira to the fees. He noted that the protest led to the closure of the school and the suspension of some Student Union Government (SUG) representatives. Reflecting on the incident, he remarked, "To agree the 1k addition for our 300L fee, we rioted and school even closed down. Some SUG reps were suspended. Now, let me laugh. We'll learn."

One user, @Uchennastephs, commented that they were in school during the same period at Federal University Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (FUNAI) and paid similar fees, with total costs not exceeding 200,000 naira from 100 level to 400 level.
