Igbogbo Monarch Sponsors Free CBT Training for 500 Students Ahead of 10th Coronation Anniversary
In a significant gesture to commemorate his 10th coronation anniversary, Oba Semiudeen Orimadegun Kasali, Emugoriade I, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, has launched a free Computer-Based Test (CBT) training program for 500 senior-secondary students. This initiative, organized by the palace, aims to bolster educational opportunities and digital literacy among youth in the community.
Workshop Details and Objectives
The one-day workshop is scheduled to take place on April 7, 2026, at 10:00 am at the HOMAT CBT Centre in Igbogbo, Lagos State. According to palace officials, the program targets students from six public schools within the Igbogbo and Ikorodu divisions. Oba Kasali emphasized the importance of this effort, stating, "Knowledge is the lasting crown we can give our young people." This reflects his long-standing commitment to education as a key driver of community development over the past decade.
During the training, participants will engage in hands-on CBT practice sessions, receive exam-strategy coaching, and obtain career advice. The primary goal is to enhance their readiness for the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), while also boosting their digital confidence. This initiative is seen as a proactive step to address educational challenges and prepare students for future academic and professional endeavors.
Broader Impact and Community Focus
The selection of schools from public institutions underscores the monarch's focus on equitable access to education. By sponsoring this free training, the palace aims to reduce barriers to learning and empower students with essential skills for the digital age. This program is part of a series of activities planned for the 10th coronation anniversary celebrations, highlighting Oba Kasali's dedication to fostering youth development and educational advancement in the Igbogbo Kingdom.
Community leaders and educators have praised the initiative, noting its potential to improve academic performance and career prospects for the beneficiaries. As the anniversary approaches, this training serves as a testament to the monarch's vision of using education as a cornerstone for sustainable growth and prosperity in the region.
