The UIMC, acting under the directive of the Chief Imam of the University of Ibadan, officially announced the painful loss. The statement confirmed that Professor Raji's funeral (janazah) would hold on Saturday, December 21, 2025, in his hometown of Ogbomoso, in accordance with Islamic rites. A delegation from the UIMC was scheduled to depart the UI campus by 6:30 am to attend the burial.
