NELFUND Disburses ₦2.1 Billion in Institutional Loans to UNIOSUN and KIU Students
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has officially announced the successful disbursement of institutional loans to students of Osun State University (UNIOSUN) and Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU) for the 2025/2026 Academic Session. This significant financial support aims to alleviate the burden of educational expenses for thousands of Nigerian students.
Details of the Disbursement
In a statement released on its official X account on Wednesday, NELFUND revealed that a combined total of ₦2,109,980,200 has been disbursed to support 7,382 students from both institutions across multiple batches. The breakdown by institution provides a clear picture of the allocation.
For Osun State University, NELFUND disbursed ₦2,038,534,000 to 5,924 beneficiaries across six separate batches. This substantial amount underscores the fund's focus on supporting a large number of students at UNIOSUN.
Regarding Kashim Ibrahim University, the disbursement was detailed in two batches. The fifth batch saw ₦47,638,900 allocated to 955 KIU students, while the sixth batch provided ₦23,807,300 to 503 students. This brings the total for KIU to ₦71,446,200 for 1,458 students.
