Olukoya Urges MTU Graduands: Be Solutions to Nigeria's Challenges
Olukoya to Graduates: Be Solutions, Not Problems

Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, the Chancellor of Mountain Top University (MTU) and General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Worldwide, has issued a powerful charge to new graduates, urging them to become active solutions to the nation's numerous problems.

A Call for Solution-Minded Leadership

The call was made during the Seventh Convocation Ceremony of Mountain Top University, held at the institution's Prayer City campus. Dr. Olukoya emphasized that the university's core mission is to produce leaders capable of reshaping Nigeria's future.

"Don't join the crowd, be a solution-minded Nigerian," Olukoya declared, challenging the graduands to stand apart. He revealed that since its inception, MTU has been dedicated to raising graduates who are not only academically excellent and morally sound but also equipped with practical vocational skills for self-reliance and job creation.

Building Character and Competence

Dr. Olukoya urged the new alumni to become shining examples of the university's vision. He also took a moment to commend the National Universities Commission (NUC), specifically acknowledging the Executive Secretary, Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, for the commission's role in upholding educational standards.

Adding her voice to the occasion, Dr. Folashade Elizabeth Olukoya, the Chancellor's wife, pledged her continued commitment to positively impacting students, with a special focus on mentoring female students to achieve their full potential.

Governor Eno's Blueprint for Success

The event featured a keynote lecture from the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, titled "Dream Big, Start Small." Governor Eno encouraged the youth to nurture ambitious dreams while grounding their journey to success in humble beginnings, relentless hard work, and strong character.

"Dream big, start small, be passionate, work twice as hard, and watch the Invisible Hands of God lift you to heights you never imagined possible," Eno charged the gathering.

He cautioned against the modern trap of seeking instant gratification without putting in the necessary work, a path he said often leads to frustration and moral decline. However, he expressed strong confidence that the solid moral and intellectual foundation provided by MTU would distinguish its graduands as future leaders, innovators, and change-makers.

To drive his point home, Governor Eno quoted renowned motivational speaker Zig Ziglar: "You don't need to be great to start, but you need to start to be great." He concluded with a powerful summary: "Dream big about impact. Start small with service. Grow steadily through character and competence."
