NCDMB to Feature Dakuku Peterside in Leadership-Focused Book Reading Session
The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) is set to host a significant book reading event featuring Dakuku Peterside, the former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). This initiative aims to deepen leadership discourse and facilitate knowledge exchange among professionals and stakeholders.
Event Details and Programme Focus
Scheduled for April 15, 2026, the session will take place at the Nigerian Content Tower in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. This marks the fourth edition of the Board's quarterly book reading programme, which is designed to strengthen capacity development not only within the oil and gas sector but across various industries.
The event will center on Peterside's acclaimed book, Leading in a Storm, which explores leadership responses to crisis, uncertainty, and institutional change. These themes have become increasingly relevant in light of Nigeria's ongoing economic and governance challenges, making the discussion timely and impactful.
Interactive Learning and Engagement
Introduced in 2014, the NCDMB's book reading programme provides a platform for authors, professionals, and stakeholders to engage in critical thinking and structured dialogue on national development issues. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with Peterside through readings, discussions, and a question-and-answer session, reflecting a growing trend towards interactive learning platforms in public institutions.
Dakuku Peterside brings over 24 years of experience in both public and private sectors, with a reputation for his work in public sector reform and organisational leadership. His book, Leading in a Storm, was honored as the Book of the Year 2025 by THISDAY newspaper, underscoring its significance and influence.
Promoting Innovation and Learning
Obinna Ezeobi, the General Manager of Corporate Communications at NCDMB, emphasized that the programme is intended to promote learning and innovation in response to emerging challenges. By hosting such events, the Board seeks to foster a culture of continuous improvement and adaptive leadership within Nigeria's professional landscape.
This book reading session not only highlights the importance of leadership in turbulent times but also reinforces NCDMB's commitment to capacity building and knowledge sharing beyond traditional sector boundaries.
