Redeemer's University (RUN) in Ede, Osun State, has achieved an impressive performance in the latest National University Commission (NUC) accreditation exercise, with the majority of its academic programmes earning full accreditation status. The result was conveyed in an official communication to the Vice-Chancellor of RUN, Prof. Shadrach Olufemi Akindele, signed by Engineer Abraham Chudunsu, Director of Accreditation, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, Prof. Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu.
Vice-Chancellor's Remarks
According to the Vice-Chancellor, 'this outcome highlights RUN's consistent investment in academic infrastructure, faculty development, and programme relevance, positioning it as a competitive player within Nigeria's higher education landscape.' He described the results as a testament to strategic leadership and a reaffirmation of RUN's mission to deliver globally competitive education.
Accredited Programmes
Several key programmes across RUN's faculties attained full accreditation, underscoring the institution's sustained commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and adherence to NUC standards.
Faculty of Management Sciences
Actuarial Science, Marketing, and Public Administration all secured full accreditation.
Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences
Flagship programmes including Medical Laboratory Science, Nursing Science, and Physiotherapy were fully accredited, while Public Health received interim status.
Faculty of Humanities
English and Philosophy both earned full accreditation.
Faculty of Computing and Digital Technology
The Cyber Security and Information Technology programmes were fully accredited, reflecting the university's growing strength in digital and technology-driven disciplines.
Faculty of Science
Environmental Management and Toxicology, Industrial Mathematics and Computer Science, and Statistics and Data Science achieved full accreditation.
Faculty of Built Environment
Building Technology and Urban and Regional Planning were likewise fully accredited.
Faculty of Social Sciences
Psychology and Social Work attained full accreditation status.
Validity Period
The NUC noted that full accreditation status is valid for a period of five years, signifying that the programmes have met all required standards in terms of curriculum, staffing, facilities, and overall academic delivery.
