The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Folasade Ogunsola, has publicly commended Midas Interiors Limited and its Chief Executive Officer, Mabel Nwanegbu, for a significant infrastructure donation to the institution.
A Modern Facility for Improved Campus Hygiene
The commendation came during the official commissioning on 20 December 2025 of a newly upgraded male sanitary facility at the Department of Chemical Engineering. The project, which was fully designed and executed by Midas Interiors Limited, replaces an old, outdated structure. It now offers contemporary fittings, enhanced functionality, and significantly improved hygiene standards for the department's students and staff.
Professor Ogunsola emphasized the critical link between physical learning environments and student development. She stated that the quality of surroundings plays a vital role in shaping students' values, behaviour, and pursuit of academic excellence. The VC noted that institutions dedicated to producing well-rounded graduates must invest in spaces that reflect dignity, discipline, and high standards.
Corporate Support for Educational Excellence
In her remarks, CEO Mabel Nwanegbu described the project as a purposeful intervention aimed at supporting education and student wellbeing. She revealed that UNILAG's recognition as Nigeria's top-ranked university by the Times Higher Education World University Ranking inspired her company to contribute meaningfully to the institution's ongoing development. Nwanegbu also expressed keen interest in future collaborations to further enhance the university's infrastructure.
Midas Interiors Limited brings over a decade of expertise in interior design, construction, and bespoke space transformation. The firm has a portfolio spanning corporate, residential, hospitality, and institutional sectors, known for blending practical functionality with modern aesthetics.
Building Partnerships for Sustainable Development

The immediate beneficiaries, the students and staff of the Chemical Engineering Department, have warmly welcomed the upgraded facility. They describe it as a major improvement that enhances daily hygiene, comfort, and overall morale on campus. This project now forms part of the growing portfolio of Midas Interiors Limited, reinforcing the impactful role of thoughtful design in supporting education and community development.
