Ndubuisi Gift, a student of Saint Maria Goretti Grammar School in Benin City, has publicly shared her 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results on TikTok, revealing disappointing grades in her most important subjects and hinting at a retake in 2027.
The secondary school leaver, who took to the social media platform on Wednesday, 5 August 2026, expressed her heartbreak in a post accompanying the result screenshot: "weac release today I got weak in my important subject trying again next year ???."
2026 WAEC Result Breakdown
The result screenshot showed a mix of strong and weak performances. Gift scored B2 in Civic Education, B3 in Marketing, B3 in Economics, B3 in Agriculture, B3 in Biology, and C4 in English Language. However, the most painful outcomes were D7 in General Mathematics and D7 in Physics, subjects she described as her most important.
These grades fall short of the minimum credit passes typically required in Mathematics and English for university admission under JAMB and most Nigerian tertiary institution requirements, a situation familiar to thousands of candidates each year.
Rather than hide her disappointment, Gift chose to be transparent about her experience, signalling her intention to rewrite the examination in 2027 to improve her grades.
