Nollywood Actor Okemesi Reveals Crippling Spiritual Attack Left Him Homeless and Paralyzed
Yoruba Nollywood actor Bamidele Tope Saint, popularly known as Okemesi, has opened up about a devastating spiritual ordeal that forced him off the screen and into severe hardship. The actor, who has been absent from the entertainment scene for nearly a year, recently shared his painful experience during an emotional interview with his colleague, Tony Montana.
A Mysterious Attack That Defied Medical Science
Okemesi disclosed that he was struck by what he described as a spiritual arrow that completely defied conventional medical understanding. This mysterious attack left him completely paralyzed and unable to speak for several months, creating a health crisis that traditional hospitals could not resolve. The actor revealed that kind-hearted individuals initially contributed money for his treatment at Island Hospital, but his condition continued to deteriorate despite medical care.
It was a spiritual attack. May God protect us from spiritual arrows, the actor stated during the interview, expressing the profound nature of his experience. His revelation comes just hours after the passing of fellow actress Ajara Lasisi, who died following a prolonged battle with a liver ailment.
Journey from Hospital to Spiritual Intervention
When medical treatment proved ineffective, those around Okemesi searched his phone for relatives' contacts and reached out to his elder brother in Osogbo. His brother immediately arranged transportation and took him straight to an Islamic cleric for spiritual intervention. According to Okemesi, this marked a turning point in his recovery journey.
It was a serious attack. I became crippled. It was the prayers from people and God's miracles that revived me, the actor explained. He added that he began to walk with crutches just hours after the Alfa provided him with spiritual items on the same day he arrived in Osogbo.
Further Complications and Current Homelessness
Tragically, the spiritual difficulties followed Okemesi to his brother's residence. The actor claimed that his brother, who had been caring for him, was later involved in a ghastly accident and faced significant marital problems. These developments forced Okemesi to leave his brother's house, leaving him without stable accommodation.
Currently, the actor has found temporary refuge on church premises, where he struggles daily to meet basic needs. I don't have a place to sleep, I don't have anything. In fact, it's difficult to feed, Okemesi pleaded during the interview. My fans, you are the only thing left for me. Please, I need your help to get back on my feet, especially with accommodation.
Connection to Recent Nollywood Tragedy
Okemesi's revelation coincides with the recent passing of veteran actress Aunty Ajara, whose last interview has surfaced online showing her sharing painful experiences from her past. Before her death, several Nollywood stars including Wumi Toriola, Mide Martins, Afeez Owo, and Ronke Oshodi Oke had appealed to the public for financial support for the ailing actress.
The actor's colleague Tony Montana expressed shock at Okemesi's frail appearance during their conversation, highlighting how dramatically the spiritual attack has affected the once-vibrant performer. Okemesi's story serves as a sobering reminder of the challenges facing some Nigerian entertainers behind the glamour of the screen.
