The Soweto-born beauty queen engaged in a heated exchange with critics on her social media pages, arguing that her previous remarks had been misunderstood.

Critics referenced comments she made during a 2024 visit to Nigeria, where she stated she was not returning to South Africa. Adetshina clarified that she meant she was not going back at that particular time, not that she would never return. When one user told her to 'go home' to Nigeria, she responded: 'I said I don't want to… Is it by force?' She also pleaded with critics to stop adding pressure to an already difficult situation, writing: 'Stop frustrating my life.'

Legal Battle Against Deportation Continues in Cape Town Court

Legit.ng reported that Adetshina returned to the Cape Town Regional Court on Thursday, July 16, 2026, to continue her legal fight against deportation. She was arrested for allegedly living in South Africa illegally. Adetshina was expected to submit an affidavit outlining steps she has taken to regularise her immigration status. According to eNCA reporter Nobesuthu Hejana, the affidavit forms part of her effort to challenge the Department of Home Affairs' deportation case.
