Comedian Aderombi Adedayo Martin, popularly known as Deeone, has taken to social media to mock Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VDM, following an alleged court verdict in the defamation case brought against him by the wife of comedian Mr Jollof.
Background of the Case
Mrs. Jollof had filed a lawsuit against VDM for defamation of character after the self-proclaimed social media watchdog accused her of infidelity. VDM had publicly named a hotel where he claimed she was seen with another man, repeatedly dragging her online. The case has been ongoing for several months.
Deeone Reveals Alleged Verdict
In a video shared on his Instagram page, Deeone claimed that the court found VDM guilty of defamation. According to him, the court ordered VDM to issue a retraction and publish an apology in two national newspapers within 14 days. Additionally, VDM was ordered to pay N30.5 million in damages to Mrs. Jollof. Deeone broke down the amount: N500,000 for litigation costs, N20 million for aggravated damages, and N10 million for general damages.
Deeone Taunts VDM
The comedian mocked VDM, stating that the "manipulator" had been exposed. He warned others against making unproven claims about people. Deeone noted that when VDM was asked in court to provide evidence for his allegations, he admitted he had none and relied on hearsay. Deeone added that only VDM's siblings are good people, while others are not. He sarcastically suggested that VDM's NGO funds would be useful for paying the damages, as he had not been using the money for anything meaningful. Deeone concluded that VDM was "learning the hard way."

Previous Allegations by VDM
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that VDM had threatened to beat up Mr Jollof and accused his wife of sleeping with men before her husband was appointed an adviser in the Delta state government. VDM also criticized fashion designer Seyi Vodi for claiming to support him while speaking negatively behind his back.
