DeeOne Issues Stern Warning to VeryDarkMan and Ratels in Escalating Online Conflict
Nigerian comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate DeeOne has openly confronted social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan, along with his supporters, referred to as Ratels. This confrontation follows a series of viral developments involving cryptocurrency entrepreneur Blord and human rights activist Omoyele Sowore, sparking intense online debates and drawing DeeOne's direct involvement.
Background of the Clash and Legal Troubles
The situation originated when Blord was remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre by an Abuja High Court for charges of impersonation and unauthorized use of VeryDarkMan's image to promote a new app and billboards. VeryDarkMan celebrated the court ruling, claiming he had successfully sent Blord to prison, while Sowore condemned the judgment and pledged to secure Blord's release. In response, VeryDarkMan warned Sowore that he could also face imprisonment if he used his image without permission, further fueling the controversy.
DeeOne's Direct Threats and Provocative Statements
Reacting to the heated exchanges, DeeOne posted a video on Instagram where he issued a stern warning to the Ratels against using his photograph in their online content. He boldly declared his readiness to sponsor billboards across Nigeria, displaying VeryDarkMan's image alongside the APC party logo, and asserted that he possesses the power to send the social media critic to prison if provoked.
"If they born any Ratel well, put my picture on your video. I will carry VeryDarkMan's picture, put it with APC, put it in three major billboards for Nigeria. Try it. I will write 'sponsored by DeeOne' on it. Na me go send VeryDarkMan to prison," DeeOne stated in the video.
He further mocked VeryDarkMan's supporters, emphasizing that he is not Sowore or Blord and will not tolerate being targeted in the ongoing feud. "You Ratels are so delusional, DeeOne is not Sowore or Blord. Be warned," he added, highlighting his determination to take serious action if challenged.

DeeOne's Previous Political Comments and Accusations
Earlier, DeeOne made headlines for his remarks on political matters involving Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 elections. He accused the former Anambra state governor of planning to win through sympathy, following an attack on Obi and other ADC leaders in Benin City. DeeOne dismissed claims that the APC was behind the incident, suggesting instead that people close to Obi could have staged it, showcasing his involvement in broader public debates beyond entertainment.
This ongoing feud highlights the intersection of celebrity culture, social media activism, and legal issues in Nigeria, with DeeOne positioning himself as a formidable opponent in the digital arena. The situation remains volatile, with potential for further escalation as both sides continue to exchange threats and accusations online.
