Filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has dismissed claims that she snubbed Fuji star Wasiu Pasuma at a recent public event. The claim followed a video posted on X by a user, @UOladiti, who alleged that the actress snubbed Pasuma in public.
The edited clip, which later gained attention online, showed Akindele greeting actress Fathia Balogun at her birthday celebration while Pasuma sat nearby. Reacting to the claim on X on Sunday, Akindele said the video did not show the full story, adding that she had greeted and danced with the Fuji star.
“Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, danced with him. Pasuma is my egbon. Pls you all should stop this evil,” she wrote.
In the short clip, Pasuma was seen seated at a table and looking at his phone while guests moved around the venue. The video also carried a caption alleging that Akindele “stylishly snubbed” the Fuji singer. However, a longer version of the video later shared online showed Akindele exchanging pleasantries with Pasuma before moving on to greet other guests. Some fans of the actress also shared the extended footage, saying the shorter clip had been edited to create a wrong impression.
The event was held in honour of Balogun and had other guests in attendance, including TikTok personality, Ashabi Olose. Akindele’s reaction came weeks after a video from the premiere of The Return of Arinzo sparked debate online over her public interaction with actress Toyin Abraham. The actress, however, insisted that the latest claim involving Pasuma was false and urged social media users to stop spreading negative narratives.
