In her video, she explained that her great-grandfather, Amedu Nwaoyima of Ibagwa-Aka in Igbo Eze South Local Government Area, Enugu State, was one of the pioneer indigenous Igbo Muslims in the area and a key figure in spreading Islam in Ibagwa-Aka.

She recounted how living in the north as one of the few Igbo Muslims made her stand out. “Growing up, I asked my dad endless questions. Because we lived in the north and were the only Igbo Muslims,” she said. She added that she sometimes tried to hide her identity because she would become popular everywhere she went, with people constantly questioning her background. “I’m the only Igbo Muslim they ever come across,” she noted.
