The incident, which occurred several years ago, was revealed in a Facebook post on Tuesday, March 17, where Chioma expressed that she has since moved on from the emotional experience.
A Day of Unknowing Companionship
According to Chioma, she escorted her ex-boyfriend, who hails from Anambra State, to the mall, where she actively participated in selecting most of the drinks he bought. She described the moment as seemingly ordinary, with no hint of the impending revelation. "This was the day I escorted my ex to buy drinks at the mall, not knowing he was getting married the next day," she wrote in her post, capturing the innocence of that day.
The Sudden and Painful Revelation
Later that same day, after taking a photograph together, her ex-boyfriend broke the shocking news to her. When Chioma questioned his reasons, he explained that his mother had instructed him not to marry a woman from Imo State, citing tribal preferences. "He said his mum told him that he can't get married to a woman from Imo State (he is from Nnewi)," she recounted, highlighting the role of familial influence in their breakup.
Initially, Chioma thought he was joking, given her deep commitment to the relationship. To confirm his seriousness, he even called the other woman in her presence and put the phone on speaker, leaving no doubt about his intentions.
