Paul Okoye's Legal Victory: Woman Who Falsely Accused Singer of Rape Faces Court
Lady who defamed Paul Okoye speaks on health after arrest

Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has successfully pursued legal action against a woman who made serious defamatory allegations against him on social media platform X.

Arrest and Court Proceedings

The woman, identified online as chubbiedivah, was arrested on November 6, 2025 following her viral September 2025 posts where she accused the singer of cheating on his ex-wife Anita Okoye with their housemaid and alleged he had raped or coerced the domestic staff.

According to updates shared by netizen JJExclusive1, the accused was detained and subsequently charged to court on November 10, 2025. Paul Okoye had deliberately kept the arrest quiet to avoid generating public sympathy that might interfere with the judicial process.

Health Claims and Court Evasion

After spending approximately 24 hours in detention, the woman began complaining of health issues including breathing difficulties and swollen legs, requesting immediate medical attention.

She was subsequently released on medical grounds after her lawyer promised she would return to court by November 10. However, she failed to appear as promised, with her lawyer citing serious health complications.

The case was adjourned to November 17, but she again failed to appear in court, claiming she remained under medical supervision. The court has now rescheduled the matter for December 1, 2025 and has ordered that either she or her lawyer must be present.

Public Reaction and Consequences

Social media users have expressed strong opinions about the case, with many supporting Paul Okoye's legal actions.

One user, Odogwu_Rico, commented: "This is a clear message that false accusations have serious consequences. We must protect the integrity of real victims while ensuring no one is falsely accused."

Another user, Hisgraceeric, added: "This should serve as a deterrent to those accusing people falsely."

Before her arrest, the woman had disabled her X account and fled both social media and her husband's house in what appeared to be an attempt to avoid legal consequences.

The case continues to develop as the December court date approaches, with many watching closely to see how this high-profile defamation case will conclude.
