Popular Nigerian reality television star and actress, Liquorose, has given fans a rare and personal glimpse into her life, sharing the fascinating story behind her stage name, her deep family connections, and her ambitious future plans.
The Birth of the Name 'Liquorose'
During a candid conversation on the popular Off the Top podcast hosted by VJ Adams, the 30-year-old celebrity traced the origin of her unique moniker. She revealed that the name Liquorose was created on December 31st, 2012, more than a decade ago.
"I picked Liquorose December 31st 2012," she explained. The name is a creative fusion of her love for liquor and her birth name, Rosaline. Liquorose also shared a deeper, more personal reason tied to her personality. "I am a very shy person too. My mum says in her language, 'Alcohol is never shy'," she recounted, indicating the name serves as an alter ego that contrasts with her natural reserve.
Missing Home and Family Bonds
Despite her fame, Liquorose admitted that her demanding schedule often keeps her away from her family and the comfort of home. "I don't go home often, it's bad. I miss my home, I miss my bed," she confessed with noticeable emotion.
She highlighted the close-knit and joyful dynamic within her family, stating, "We are very close in my family… we know how to make each other laugh." Her last visit to her neighbourhood was the previous year, coinciding with her annual charity activities which she undertakes every December.
Big Dreams: A Loud Wedding and Nine Children
Looking ahead, Liquorose unveiled some of her major life aspirations, which include building a very large family. In a surprising revelation, she declared, "I want nine kids."
Her perspective on marriage has also evolved significantly over time. "Growing up, I used to be that girl who could get married, and nobody would know," she said, referring to a desire for a private ceremony. However, her current vision is dramatically different and far more extravagant.
"At one point, I thought… I want a two-week wedding. I want something loud because it's going to be a lot," she exclaimed, signaling a grand celebration fitting her personality. She ended with a playful but firm declaration about her relationship status, stating, "Liquorose is taken! Officially. I have to do that."
