Man Lists 3 Changes After Quitting Church, Recalls Pastor's Sowing Remark

A Nigerian man has opened up about his life after deciding to stop attending church, listing three significant changes he experienced. In a viral TikTok video, he also recounted a conversation with a pastor who advised him to sow a seed for his application to succeed.

Peace and Freedom from Unnecessary Prayers

The man, known as @hopeandgrowth_ on TikTok, began by stating that his life has been peaceful since he left church. He explained that he no longer prays unnecessary prayer points, such as those targeting witches, covens, or spirits of stagnation. He said: 'I no longer pray unnecessary prayers. Sometimes you go to church and they give you a list of prayers to pray—pray for witches, pray for coven, pray for every spirit of stagnation. Prayer points I don't need, I no longer have to pray them.'

No Fear of Bad Dreams

He also mentioned that he no longer fears bad dreams. In church, he was taught that dreaming of eating, playing with women, or being chased by masquerades were evil dreams. Now, he said, 'I don't care which kind of dreams I dream anymore. I no dey fear. If you like give me chicken and chips in my dreams, I go chop.'

No Guilt Over Tithes and Offerings

The third change he highlighted was the absence of guilt for not paying tithes or offerings. He noted that church teachings made him believe that not paying tithes would hinder progress, business growth, and financial increase. However, after stopping tithes for four to five years, he claims to make more money now than when he was paying. 'I give now at will. If you want to give to church, I give at will,' he added.

Pastor's Seed Sowing Request

He also shared a specific encounter with a pastor. When he informed the pastor about an application he was submitting, the pastor told him to come and sow a seed for the application to succeed. The man replied: 'I told him clearly, no, me I no dey sow seed.'

Social Media Reactions

The video sparked mixed reactions. Wise Lord commented: 'Same here too.' BIG FÂÂY 002 wrote: 'Me I don't pray at all because prayer doesn't work.' Realtalkswithruth asked: 'Ah! You’ve stopped going to church?' Jamie Dornan noted: 'Your right sir, but in the other way hand your wrong.'
