Nigerian media mogul Mo Abudu has announced that EbonyLife Place London will open in October 2026, featuring the United Kingdom's first cinema dedicated exclusively to African and Black films. The announcement, made on Monday, marks a major milestone in the expansion of the EbonyLife brand beyond Nigeria's borders.
Transformation of a London Property
Abudu acquired the London property in March 2025, and since then, it has undergone a significant transformation. In a video shared on social media, she documented the journey from a "dull" and "blank canvas" to a vibrant cultural hub. The video showcased the property's original state and its current progress, with the Amani Auditorium now featuring a polished, vintage-inspired cinema aesthetic.
"Let's take a little trip back to March 2025, when we acquired the property. This is exactly how it looked then. Dull and, quite honestly, a blank canvas! Now fast forward to August 2026 and WOW! Our Amani Auditorium is almost complete! We've gone for a beautiful vintage-inspired look," Abudu said in the video.
A Cultural Hub Beyond Cinema
EbonyLife Place London is not just a cinema; it is designed to be a vibrant cultural hub celebrating African fashion, music, food, and art. The venue will include several distinct spaces, as Abudu detailed: "The space will include our Grand Reception, The Afrobeat Restaurant, Fèhintì Lounge, Maji Concession & Bar, Zuri Retail and The Living Wall Gallery."
"EbonyLife Place London will become the first cinema in the United Kingdom dedicated exclusively to African and Black films, while also creating a vibrant cultural hub celebrating our fashion, music, food and art," she added.

This London project expands the EbonyLife Place brand, which already includes a major entertainment and lifestyle destination in Lagos, Nigeria.
