Actor Nick Pasqual, best known for his role in the television series How I Met Your Mother, has been found guilty of attempted murder after a violent attack on his former girlfriend, makeup artist Allie Shehorn. The incident occurred at her home in Los Angeles, California.
Conviction and Charges
A California jury convicted the 36-year-old on multiple charges, including attempted murder, first-degree residential burglary with a person present, domestic violence, and forcible rape. Prosecutors detailed that Pasqual broke into Shehorn's home in Sunland around 4:30 a.m. in May 2024 and attacked her. Authorities reported that Shehorn suffered multiple stab wounds and was left fighting for her life.
Sentencing and Restraining Order
Pasqual now faces a possible life sentence, with sentencing scheduled for June 2. Court proceedings revealed that Shehorn had obtained a restraining order against Pasqual prior to the attack. During the trial, allegations of a pattern of abuse throughout the relationship were presented.
Testimony of Abuse
Shehorn testified that Pasqual assaulted her with a belt in January 2024 and later forced his way through doors inside their home before assaulting and choking her. In emotional testimony, she recalled: “I locked the door and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open, and I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door.”
Attempted Flight and Arrest
After the attack, prosecutors said Pasqual attempted to flee to Mexico but was arrested near the border in Texas about a week later. Shehorn was discovered by her friend and roommate, Christine White, who found her critically injured. White described the scene: “That wasn’t a pretty sight. This is not the kind of thing that should happen to anybody.”
Injuries and Recovery
The attack left Shehorn with severe injuries to her neck, arms, and abdomen, requiring multiple surgeries and nearly a week in intensive care. After a lengthy recovery, she returned to work and has received credits on productions including Mean Girls and Rebel Moon – Part One.
