A Nigerian social media user, Samuel Adeboye Adeyeye, popularly known on X as Swanky, has reportedly been sentenced to two years in prison for spreading false information about the death of singer Adekunle Gold and Simi's daughter, Deja.
The convict, who pleaded guilty to criminal charges, had posted a disturbing message claiming that the celebrity couple's six-year-old daughter had died from a rare disease known as Canavan disease. The now-deleted post quickly went viral due to its shocking nature.

According to reports, legal action was taken against the Twitter user after his malicious post. Swanky was taken to court, where he admitted to spreading the false information. A social media user identified as @sepril23NG shared details of the judgment online, stating that Swanky was sentenced to two years imprisonment.
The tweet read: "Mr SAMUEL ADEBOYE ADEYEYE aka Swanky_concept has been sentenced to 2 years imprisonment after pleading guilty for spreading misinformation with malicious intent about Adekunle Gold and Simi's daughter."
