The pastor noted that they attended the same secondary school, Federal Government College Daura, and shared many experiences.

He specifically mentioned three things they shared: classes, jokes, and lunch breaks. He added that they shared moments that made those years unforgettable. His tribute read partly: 'We grew up together in FGC Daura. We shared classes, jokes, lunch breaks, and all the small moments that made those years unforgettable. You were kind, loyal, lively, the one who made the room better just by being in it.'

Arthur Ifeanyi Ezedinma also revealed how he heard about Alexx Ekubo's passing. He said that when the actor fell sick, he was praying with him and trusting God for his healing. He expressed disbelief upon hearing the news two days ago, saying 'I still can't believe it.' He added: 'You left too soon, Ikenna. Far too soon. But one thing consoles me: you made peace with our Lord Jesus Christ before you left. That is greater than every trophy the industry ever gave you. Rest well, Alex Ikenna Ekubo.'
