TikTok sensation Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has disclosed that suspected hoodlums stole mobile phones from guests outside his traditional wedding venue in Lagos, forcing him to personally replace some of the stolen devices. The revelation came during a TikTok livestream on Monday, August 3, just days after his lavish ceremony with partner Elizabeth Amadou, popularly called Jarvis.
According to Peller, the thefts occurred outside the hall while the celebration was in full swing inside. Guests later contacted him to report that their phones had been snatched, and he spent money to replace some of the devices. He expressed frustration over the number of incidents, stating that the area was overrun by agberos (area boys) who outnumbered the guests.
Agberos Outnumber Guests at Wedding Venue
In his characteristic Pidgin English, Peller lamented: "Agbero don occupy Lagos. No be small. Agbero plenty pass guests wey come to my wedding. Agbero plenty outside. People wey come say dem dey sn@tch their phones. Una know how many phone I don pay for?"
He recounted a particularly distressing case involving a female guest whose phone was stolen the moment she arrived at the gate. "One girl, as she reach, na so dem sn@tch her phone for gate. Dem run away," he said.
Road Incident Sparks False Rumours
Beyond the thefts, Peller described a separate commotion on the road outside the venue. A driver, confronted by agberos blocking the road, allegedly drove into one of them, sparking rumours that Peller himself was responsible. He clarified: "Me wey I dey inside hall dey do my wedding, na so them say I kill person. Agbero stay for front of car. Them say comot, he no gree. The car owner vex con jam am."
The incident fuelled speculation on social media, but Peller insisted he was inside the hall throughout the ceremony and had no involvement in the altercation.
White Wedding to Feature Tightened Security
Determined to avoid a repeat of the chaos, Peller announced that his white wedding, scheduled for August 8, would be a strictly private event. He had earlier revealed that only 100 invited guests would attend, with security personnel deployed to keep uninvited individuals away from the surroundings.
He vowed: "No worry, my white wedding no go be like the way una do that day." The statement signals a significant shift from the traditional wedding, which attracted a massive crowd and numerous celebrities.
Celebrity-Studded Guest List and Lavish Gifts
The traditional wedding, tagged #JP2026, brought together Nollywood stars Iyabo Ojo, Eniola Badmus, Moyo Lawal, and Aunty Ramota, alongside musicians Zinoleesky, Seun Kuti, and fuji icons Kwam 1 and Sule Alao Malaika. Socialites Cubana Chief Priest and Pretty Mike of Lagos also graced the occasion.
The couple received extraordinary gifts, including bundles from Cubana Chief Priest, $20,000 from American TikTok personality Gregory Pizarro Jr., a plot of land in Abuja valued at N150 million from Lawrence Emmanuel, and a fully furnished mansion in Abuja's Life Camp reportedly worth N400 million from businessman King Ochacho.
Peller Calls Out Guests Over Fake Dollar Notes
In a related development, Peller earlier revealed that some of the dollar notes sprayed on him at the wedding were counterfeit. He shared during a livestream that his excitement faded when the bank informed him a portion of the foreign currency was fake. The TikToker admitted he initially believed he had become a millionaire overnight, only to face disappointment and question why guests would bring counterfeit notes to such a celebration.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media, with many fans expressing sympathy for Peller while others criticised the behaviour of some attendees. As the white wedding approaches, all eyes will be on how Peller manages security and ensures a smooth, incident-free celebration.
