Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, globally known as 2Baba, finds himself at the centre of a fresh controversy. This follows the release of an alleged video by social media commentator Tosin Silverdam, purportedly showing the moment the singer was arrested in the United Kingdom.
Visual Evidence Surfaces After Months of Denial
The new development stems from an earlier allegation made by Silverdam in October 2025. At that time, he claimed that 2Baba had a heated argument with his wife, Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru, shortly after arriving in the UK for a tour. Silverdam insisted the situation escalated, leading to the intervention of police officers who reportedly took the 'African Queen' crooner into custody.
In response, 2Baba had publicly dismissed the claims. He attributed his absence from a scheduled performance to a medical emergency, not an arrest. The singer was even seen in a video with Natasha and an associate in a studio setting, laughing off the rumours.
The Alleged Arrest and Airport Altercation Footage
On Monday, December 1, 2025, Tosin Silverdam took to his Instagram page to present what he calls visual proof. He shared a clip captioned: "Video of Tuface Idibia Being Arrested by the Police in the UK After an Alleged Altercation with His Wife Natasha… and Video of Heated Argument at the Airport… The Video Is Finally Out."
The footage appears to show a moment of detention. In a separate clip, Silverdam claims to show the initial altercation between 2Baba and Natasha at Gatwick Airport. He suggested the dispute began because Natasha Osawaru was reportedly jealous of the attention her husband was receiving from fans.
Nigerian Social Media Erupts with Reactions
The release of the video has sparked intense reactions online, with many netizens weighing in on the state of 2Baba's marriage. Comments compiled from social media platforms reveal a mix of criticism, mockery, and reference to his past relationship.
Some notable reactions include:
- chinoye_24 stated: "Serves him right. He never start to Dey see shege yet."

These comments highlight how the incident has renewed public scrutiny of the singer's personal life, with several users making direct references to his former partner, Annie Idibia.
Prior to this controversy, 2Baba and Natasha were recently spotted together at a party hosted by actress Yvonne Jegede in Lagos, celebrating her 20-year milestone in Nollywood. Their joint appearance had initially quelled some rumours, but the latest video evidence has once again made their marriage a hot topic for public debate.
