Ahmed Ajibola, widely known as General H, has publicly explained his departure from the City Boy Movement, a pro-Tinubu youth organisation, firmly rejecting allegations that he was dismissed or made derogatory remarks about President Bola Tinubu and his son, Seyi Tinubu. In a statement shared on Instagram on Friday, Ajibola described the circulating reports as "false, malicious, and misleading," and insisted that his exit was a matter of principle.
Voluntary Resignation, Not a Sacking
Ajibola, who served as the Oyo State Coordinator, clarified that he resigned voluntarily after declining two new appointments offered by the movement's leadership. According to him, the Oyo State Director offered him the position of Coordinator, Directorate Affairs on 1 August 2026, and just four days later, on 5 August, the national leadership proposed a second role as Coordinator, Stakeholder Engagement, South-West Structure. He turned down both offers and subsequently submitted his resignation letter.
"If I had truly been sacked, where is the letter of dismissal, termination, or removal from office? None exists because none was ever issued," he asserted, challenging his detractors to produce any evidence of a formal termination.
Reasons Behind the Exit
In his resignation letter addressed to the national leadership, Ajibola cited a growing misalignment between the movement's actions and the values that initially inspired him. He emphasised that leadership must be anchored on "fairness, loyalty, transparency, competence, and mutual respect," and noted that events within the Oyo State structure had made it untenable for him to continue in good conscience.
"Certain actions and decisions have fallen short of the values that inspired many of us to dedicate our time, energy, and resources to the growth of this movement," he wrote, without specifying the exact incidents that prompted his decision.
Unwavering Loyalty to President Tinubu
Ajibola was unequivocal that his resignation does not reflect any diminished support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. "Let me, however, make one thing abundantly clear: my resignation from the City Boy Movement does not in any way diminish my support, admiration, and loyalty to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR," he stated.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the administration's Renewed Hope Agenda and pledged to continue backing Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027. He also dismissed the allegations of derogatory comments as a deliberate distortion of facts, challenging the rumour mongers to provide proof.
Gratitude and Philosophical Reflection
Ajibola expressed gratitude to fellow movement members in Oyo State, saying he was proud of their collective achievements. In a separate social media post, he reflected on his decision philosophically: "Not every battle is worth fighting, and not every environment aligns with your values. Sometimes, the greatest act of leadership is knowing when to walk away with your principles, dignity, and self-respect intact."
The City Boy Movement, associated with Seyi Tinubu, was established to mobilise youth support for President Tinubu. The group has been active in various states, including Oyo, where Ajibola played a key role.

This development comes amid broader scrutiny of Seyi Tinubu's political activities.
