NYSC Corper Laments Abuja Camp Life in Viral Video

A young Nigerian woman serving in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has captured widespread attention after sharing her distressing experience at the Abuja orientation camp in a viral TikTok video that has sparked numerous reactions online.

The Heartfelt Plea from Camp

In the emotional video posted on her TikTok account @peshpgold, the corps member revealed that she had only visited the camp dining hall once since her arrival at the orientation camp. The young lady explained that she had been relying on her personal funds to purchase meals rather than using the camp's dining facilities.

However, her financial situation has taken a drastic turn, forcing her to change her approach. "Omoh, since I came to this camp, I've only visited the dining hall just once, and that was yesterday," she confessed in the video that was published in November 2025.

Financial Struggle Forces Change

The corps member dramatically announced her new reality: "From the look of things, I think I'll be visiting the dining hall every dam.n day because hand don reach corper. Corper don suffer, Corper is seeing a lot."

Her situation became so dire that she made a desperate plea to viewers: "Make una send funds before I die." The video also showed her meal card, confirming her location at the Abuja NYSC camp, while the post's caption read: "Who dog this pot for me."

Contrasting NYSC Experiences

While this corps member struggles with basic necessities, another recent story highlighted a completely different camp experience. A Lagos corps member revealed how she made over N650,000 during her 21-day NYSC orientation camp by baking and selling banana bread cakes to fellow corps members.

The entrepreneurial corper produced 52 cakes, selling each for N2,000, demonstrating that some young Nigerians are finding innovative ways to thrive during their service year despite the challenges.

The viral video from Abuja continues to circulate online, sparking conversations about the varying experiences of Nigerian youth during their mandatory national service and the financial pressures many face during this period.
