Benjamin Omosivie, popularly known as Benriffs, emerged as the overall winner of the maiden edition of the 'Kiekie Unscripted Experience: The Big Stage' on Sunday night, June 7. The reality show concluded in spectacular fashion, with Benriffs claiming the grand prize after weeks of intense performances, creative challenges, and audience voting. He beat hundreds of contestants to win a brand-new Mikano Changan CS15 SUV, along with additional prizes from sponsors including First Bank of Nigeria and Golden Penny. The runner-up, King Stevie, also walked away with N2.5 million in cash.
Grand Finale Highlights
The grand finale was held before a packed audience of celebrities, judges, and entertainment stakeholders. The event featured a blend of music, comedy, drama, and emotional moments, underscoring the growing influence of homegrown Nigerian entertainment formats. From an initial pool of over 500 contestants, the competition narrowed through demanding rounds that tested versatility, creativity, and stage presence. Contestants were challenged across multiple disciplines, including singing, acting, comedy, dance, spoken word, and even a viral cooking segment that became one of the season's standout moments.
Benriffs' Victory
Benriffs distinguished himself throughout the competition with consistent performances, adaptability, and strong audience appeal. His victory was met with thunderous applause as host and creator Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, popularly known as Kiekie, announced his name on stage. Overwhelmed with emotion, the winner fell to his knees before receiving the keys to the sleek SUV, a moment that instantly became one of the night's defining highlights.
Creator's Vision
Speaking after the show, Kiekie explained that the project was designed to create opportunities for emerging Nigerian talents who often lack access to major platforms. She emphasized that the wealth of talent in Nigeria is limitless, but the doors of opportunity remain frustratingly narrow for those without structural backing or financial leverage. She said, "When we conceived the Kiekie Unscripted Experience, the goal was never just to create a funny game show or another temporary television distraction. The goal was to build a bridge. We wanted to create a launchpad where a young person from any corner of this country could stand on a premium stage, look the world in the eye, and say, 'This is what I am capable of.' Watching Benriffs stand there today with those car keys makes every sleepless night, every production headache, and every single sacrifice completely worth it. We are not just making television; we are deliberately raising a new generation of self-sufficient, confident, and highly skilled Nigerian talents who will dominate the global space in the coming years."
