Burna Boy Defends Kicking Out Sleeping Fan: 'I Won't Be Treated Like A Stripper'
Burna Boy Defends Removing Sleeping Fan From Concert

Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy has broken his silence regarding the controversial incident at his Colorado concert where he ordered a sleeping fan to be removed from the venue.

Burna Boy's Instagram Defense

In a series of posts on his Instagram story on November 20, 2025, the Afrobeats superstar addressed the widespread criticism he received after videos showed security removing a sleeping concertgoer and her partner from his Denver, Colorado performance. While acknowledging he isn't always right, Burna Boy stood by his decision to have the couple ejected from the show.

The musician drew several comparisons to justify his actions, suggesting his situation paralleled scenarios where a passenger could be arrested for making a pilot uncomfortable or a student could be removed from class for disturbing a teacher.

'I Refuse To Be Treated Like A Stripper'

Burna Boy delivered his most pointed statement in a lengthy post where he declared he would not tolerate being made uncomfortable at his own concert, regardless of whether fans paid for tickets. He emphasized the energy he invests in his performances, stating he leaves his soul on stage and expects reciprocal engagement from his audience.

He reinforced this position by mentioning that even cancer survivors have attended his shows without falling asleep. The artist concluded this line of reasoning with his most viral statement: "I will gladly be cancelled if we are now in a world where you can treat me like a stripper, slap my a** and tell me to keep dancing 'cuz you throw $100 at me."

Addressing Eminem and Broke Fans Comment

Burna Boy also took aim at American rapper Eminem, who had commented "Yo, this is not cool" on a video about the incident. The Nigerian star expressed frustration at what he perceived as selective criticism from people who rarely acknowledge his positive contributions.

Additionally, he clarified recent viral comments about not wanting broke fans, explaining this was a private joke with his band taken out of context. He affirmed his love and respect for fans who reciprocate those feelings while adding activist statements supporting freedom in Sudan, Congo, and Nigeria.

Despite his defiant stance, Burna Boy acknowledged his human fallibility, stating he would sincerely apologize if proven wrong, though he maintains he acted correctly in this specific situation.
