Deeper Life Crusade Targets 200,000 in Abuja

The Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) has officially launched the 2026 edition of its Global Crusade with Kumuyi (GCK) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. The event, scheduled to begin on June 24, will be led by the General Superintendent, Dr. William Kumuyi.

Crusade Theme and Target

Addressing journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, the FCT State Overseer, Edison Daminabo, revealed that this year's crusade, themed “Christ’s Wonder-Working Power,” aims to attract over 200,000 participants. The main venue will be the church's headquarters in Kado, with subsequent sessions moving to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium to accommodate the expected large crowd.

Global Expansion

Daminabo highlighted that the programme has evolved from a Nigerian evangelical outreach into a worldwide movement, now spanning Africa, Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Australia. He described Kumuyi as a globally respected teacher, preacher, and evangelist whose ministry has transformed lives through messages of salvation, healing, and deliverance. The crusade first took place in Abuja in 2021 before expanding to other parts of Nigeria and eventually to numerous countries.

Primary Focus on Salvation

According to Daminabo, “the primary focus of the crusade is salvation. While God heals the sick, delivers the oppressed and performs miracles, these are secondary to the central message of eternal life through Jesus Christ.” He added that many individuals with serious health challenges and difficult circumstances have testified to divine intervention during previous editions.

Programme Schedule

The 2026 Abuja crusade will commence on June 24 at the church's cathedral grounds. From June 26, the sessions will relocate to the National Stadium to accommodate the anticipated turnout. The programme will include evening crusades, ministers' conferences, and youth-focused events. It will also be broadcast globally, allowing participants worldwide to join virtually.

Societal Challenges and Spiritual Solutions

Daminabo expressed concern over the growing challenges faced by societies globally, including insecurity, economic hardship, hunger, and conflicts. He stressed that spiritual solutions remain essential in addressing these problems. He assured that the crusade would promote spiritual revival, contribute to national transformation, and further position Nigeria as a centre of a rapidly expanding global Christian movement.

Church's Role in Governance

The church remains committed to promoting peace, moral values, and national development through prayer and support for good governance. “The church supports government by serving as a moral foundation, guiding leaders, praying for them and encouraging them to make the right decisions,” Daminabo said. He also noted that faith in God gives believers confidence and assurance of divine protection amid life's challenges, stating that God's power is greater than every human threat, including violence, insecurity, and fear.
