A young man who was raised in a devout Christian household has announced his conversion to Islam, changing his name from Samuel to Salman. In a video shared on TikTok, he explained his reasons for the decision, which he said took years to reach.
Conversion Announcement
In the video, the individual, now known as Salman, confirmed his new faith and described the journey as a long and deliberate process. He stated that converting to Islam is not an easy step, but he is fully committed to embracing the religion and learning everything from the beginning.
Salman explained that he had always wanted to convert to Islam since childhood, but his father, a strong Christian, prevented him. Now as an adult, he felt empowered to make his own decision. He acknowledged that this choice might cost him friendships and relationships with relatives, but he emphasized that once he makes a decision, he never looks back.
He said: "I know it's going to be a journey. This is something I always wanted to do since I was a kid, and my dad was always stopping me. Now that I am an adult, I think I have the ability to make my own decisions. I have decided to convert to Islam; this is my personal decision."
Salman also revealed that he had made the decision a year ago but only recently announced it. He is ready to learn like a toddler and immerse himself fully in his new faith.
Name Change and Childhood
In a follow-up video, Salman stated that his name is now Salman, having previously been known as Samuel. He spoke about his childhood, describing his father as his greatest mentor. He recalled asking his father for permission to join his friends at the mosque, but his father always refused due to his strong Christian beliefs.
He said: "I used to be a Christian, raised by a Christian dad. I've always had so much respect for my dad because he has always been my greatest mentor. But when I was a kid, I was always the type who would ask, 'Dad, can you allow me to join the mosque with my friends?' Most of my friends would visit the mosque, but my dad said no. After years of trying to convince him, I finally gave up. As an adult, I decided to follow my heart."
Salman officially became a Muslim seven days before the video was posted.
