A young man who attended secondary school with the late Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo has shared a rare detail about him. The individual, who was a junior student at the time, revealed that Ekubo was his senior at Federal Government College Daura. He described the actor as a genuinely cool person, a trait that remained with him throughout his life.
Schoolmate Recalls Alexx Ekubo's Character
In a viral post on social media, the man wrote: "Funny enough Alex Ikenna Ekubo was our senior in Federal Government College Daura." He further stated that Ekubo was always a calm and friendly individual. The post read: "He was really a cool guy all along. @AlaysaRumuomasi quote me if I am wrong.. Rest in peace Senior." This revelation came shortly after news of Ekubo's death following a long battle with cancer was announced on May 12.

In related stories, a young man recounted how his brother had met Ekubo multiple times before his death. According to him, Ekubo was very approachable, always smiling, hugging, and speaking cheerfully, even while battling illness. Another woman who worked with Ekubo on a movie set shared emotional memories, noting that he greeted her first despite his fame. She later met him in Dubai, which turned out to be their last encounter.
In a different account, a man blocked three people on WhatsApp after they posted tributes to Ekubo following his death. He criticized them for not celebrating the actor's birthday just a month earlier. Meanwhile, another individual shared private chats with Ekubo, revealing that the actor fondly called him "my third baby in the house" and "my fast-rising model."
