In a heartfelt video that has gone viral on social media, the host of the radio program Obiri Laye shared his views on how people often respond to warnings from clerics. The discussion was sparked by the passing of Omije Ojumi, which led to the resurfacing of several prophecies that had been shared about her before her death.
Afolabi Murphy emphasized that the late singer was not the only one who allegedly suffered grave consequences for disregarding such spiritual messages. He connected her case to a pattern of disobedience with fatal outcomes.
Figures Named for Ignoring Warnings
The broadcaster listed several other prominent individuals who he claimed had been forewarned. He mentioned Samuel Oshoffa, the founder of the Celestial Church of Christ, who reportedly disobeyed a warning against travel and later died from injuries sustained in a car accident.
Murphy also pointed to the gospel music industry, naming singer Aduke Gold, who reportedly died in 2024 after an illness. Another gospel artist, Egbin Orun, who passed away in 2025, was also included in his list.
"All those I mentioned were warned by prophets but chose to ignore the messages," Afolabi Murphy stated in the video.

Sharing his perspective on the matter, the broadcaster advised that it is wiser to obey than to argue when such prophetic warnings become public. He urged people to take negative messages seriously, even if they doubt the messenger.
His counsel was to pray about such warnings and seek necessary help, rather than dismissing them outright. He stressed the importance of a cautious and spiritual approach to life's challenges.
