Nollywood Actor Janmole Buried in Emotional Ceremony
Emotions ran high as late Nollywood actor Fatai Okiki Adeshina, popularly known as Janmole, was laid to rest on June 2, 2026, in his hometown of Okeho, Oke-Ogun, Oyo State. The actor died in a tragic road accident on June 1, plunging the Nigerian movie industry into mourning.
Videos shared online captured the heartbreaking moment Janmole's remains arrived in a white Hummer bus. The body was carried into a gated compound where loved ones gathered for final respects. The atmosphere was heavy with grief as women cried out his name, some rolling on the ground in anguish. Family members, colleagues, and fans stood together in disbelief as burial rites were performed according to Islamic tradition.
The passing of Janmole has left a huge void in the Yoruba film industry. Tributes poured in from fans on social media. One user, @lolaoge, wrote: "Hmmm, life, may his soul rest in peace." Another, @bola.seyi.144, reflected: "Someone that still attend party on Saturday, movie premiere is no more, when I look at life is vanity upon vanity." @justikeade___ prayed: "Yah Allah accept him and forgive his sins." Others echoed sentiments of life's fleeting nature and prayed for his soul.
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that a viral video showed the white bus Janmole was traveling in during the fatal accident, with the front and engine crushed beyond repair. The footage was shared by colleague Akin Olaiya, who mourned the loss and prayed for Janmole's soul.
