The matriarch of the Awode family, Most Senior Special Mother-in-Israel Prophetess Delphine Modupe Awode, has passed away at the age of 86. Mama Awode, a devout Seraph Christian and epitome of love and humility, was the mother of Dr. Emmanuel Aderemi Awode (JP), Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chemstar Group, the manufacturer of Finecoat and Shield Premium brands of paints.
She died in the early hours of Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Pastor Bamtefa Rotimi, the SDS of Victory District, announced her passing on behalf of the family in a statement released on Tuesday. The statement read: “With a heart full of gratitude to God for an exemplary life well spent, the Awode family and Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church (CSMC) Worldwide (Ayo Ni O), Victory District, Ikorodu, hereby announce the passing unto eternal glory of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Most Senior Special Mother-in-Israel Prophetess Delphine Modupe Awode. The glorious exit took place in the early hours of Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Burial arrangements will be announced later by the family.”
Torrents of tributes and condolences have continued to greet the death of Prophetess Modupe Awode, who served as matron of many church bands and associations during her lifetime. The Church Secretary of CSMC Divine Blessing Cathedral, AIT Road, Alagbado, Lagos, Sp. Ap (Pastor) Oluwafemi Thomas JP, also expressed condolences in a statement on Tuesday. “On behalf of the leadership of the church, CSMC Divine Blessing Cathedral, we announce the transition to glory of our beloved mother and grandmother, Most Senior Prophetess Delphine Awode, who joined the saints in the early hours of Tuesday, April 28, 2026,” the statement said.
The church condoled with Most Senior Special Apostle (Dr.) Emmanuel Awode JP, a member of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church (CSMC) Worldwide, and the entire Awode family, praying that the Lord would comfort and strengthen them at this trying time. The statement described late Mama Awode as a devout Christian and Seraph who lived her entire life for Christ, serving the Lord and humanity.
