During the conversation, Savage explained that her inspiration comes from a wide range of sources. She stated, “I am inspired by so many people. Musically, I am inspired by Brandy… I also listen to Jazz… I am inspired by my peers. You know, Wiz, Burna, David. You know, everybody. I am inspired by so many people, but I look up to God.”
This admission comes a year after she publicly challenged the notion of a “Big 3” in Afrobeats, a label often used to describe the trio of Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy. In 2025, Savage argued that this classification unfairly sidelines female artists and emerging talents in the genre.

Reflecting on her earlier remarks, Savage had said, “Think about it, right? Certain types of artists get paid more. So, they get the opportunity to spend more on influencers and radio play so you’re going to hear their music way more. And I also feel like it’s unfair to have that conversation about the Top 3 and not mention someone like Tems. Are you serious?”
Savage later clarified that her viral “fuck the big three” comment was directed at the restrictive label itself, not the individual artists. She highlighted the achievements of stars like Yemi Alade, Flavour, Asake, Tems, and Rema, questioning why they are often excluded from such discussions.
