AGN Lagos Chapter Launches Mandatory Membership Verification Exercise
Following a nationwide directive from the national leadership, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos Chapter, is set to commence its Membership Verification & Revalidation Exercise. This crucial initiative will take place from today, Wednesday, April 15, through Friday, April 17, at O’jez Lounge, National Stadium, starting at 9:00am daily.
Mandatory Nature and Objectives
This exercise is not optional; it is a mandate from the Guild’s national leadership, led by Alhaji Sanusi Abubakar Yakubu, aimed at standardizing and sanitizing membership records across all chapters. The primary goals are to reinforce the accuracy, transparency, and credibility of the Guild’s membership database, ensuring that only legitimate practitioners are officially recognized.
Benefits for Verified Members
Verified members will enjoy full access to a range of Guild benefits, including:
- Welfare support programs
- Professional opportunities and networking
- Participation in official programs and events
Broader Implications for the Guild
The verification exercise enables the AGN to develop informed policies based on reliable member data. This, in turn, helps attract institutional partnerships and supports sustainable planning for the future of the entertainment industry in Nigeria. By ensuring a clean and accurate membership roll, the Guild strengthens its position as a professional body dedicated to the welfare and advancement of actors.
