Born Alexx Ikenna Ekubo-Okwaraeke on April 10, 1986, the actor was 40 years old. He was one of Nollywood's most recognizable figures, having built a successful career in romantic comedies, drama films, and television productions. Before becoming a household name, he first gained public attention as the first runner-up at the 2010 Mr Nigeria contest before fully venturing into acting.

Ekubo rose to prominence after starring in Weekend Getaway, a 2012 romantic drama featuring some of Nollywood's biggest stars. Over the years, he appeared in several popular films, including Lagos Cougars, The First Lady, Catch.er, Diary of a Lagos Girl, Power of 1, A Sunday Affair, Omo Ghetto: The Saga, and The Bling Lagosians. Known for his calm personality, comic timing, and charming screen presence, he remained a regular face in Nollywood productions for more than a decade.

Beyond acting, Ekubo was actively involved in youth-focused campaigns and humanitarian activities. In 2020, he was recognized among the “Most Influential People of African Descent under 40” for his contributions to entertainment and social development.

Although the actor had reduced his public appearances in recent months, little was publicly known about his health condition before news of his illness emerged after his death.
